Carla & Ian- Montreal Wedding at Kensington Presbyterian Church

Kensington Presbyterian Church

About the event

On May 22nd, Carla and Ian exchanged vows in a beautifully intimate wedding ceremony at Kensington Presbyterian Church in Montreal. From the very first moment, it was clear that this celebration was less about tradition for tradition’s sake and more about what truly mattered to them—faith, family, and their deep connection to each other.

Carla and Ian’s love story is one of quiet strength. They’re the kind of couple whose presence brings calm into a room. From our first conversation, I could feel how intentional they were about their day. They didn’t want a big crowd or elaborate details. They wanted a meaningful moment in the presence of their closest loved ones, rooted in spirituality, authenticity, and peace. And that’s exactly what they created.

The venue they chose—Kensington Presbyterian Church—was the perfect backdrop for a ceremony centered in love and faith. The church’s warm wood interiors, tall arched windows, and classic architecture created a peaceful, sacred atmosphere that allowed their emotions to shine through. It’s one of those hidden gems in Montreal—quiet, elegant, and full of character.

Carla arrived with grace and radiance, wearing a soft, timeless dress that moved beautifully as she walked down the aisle. Ian, waiting at the altar with a soft smile and gentle eyes, watched her every step with a look of pure admiration. That walk—simple, sincere, and emotional—was one of the most moving moments of the day. No grand entrances, no spectacle—just love in its most honest form.

Their ceremony was full of heartfelt moments. The prayers, the music, the carefully chosen words—it all reflected who they are as individuals and as a couple. You could feel the deep respect they hold for one another. Every gesture, every look, every whispered “I love you” carried weight. These are the kinds of weddings I love to document—where the emotion is so present that the images almost speak for themselves.

After the ceremony, we took time to capture their portraits around the church and nearby quiet streets. There’s something special about newlyweds in those first few moments after saying “I do.” Carla and Ian were completely present with each other—no rush, no distractions. We moved slowly, soaking in the stillness, and letting the natural beauty of the space and their connection guide each photo. Their smiles, the way they held each other—it all felt effortless and deeply real.

What stood out to me the most was how much they trusted the moment. They weren’t focused on posing or perfection. They were simply being. That’s where the true magic of intimate weddings lies—in the space to slow down and feel every second. And as their photographer, it was such a joy to witness and capture that quiet magic.

Carla and Ian reminded me that small weddings don’t mean “less.” In fact, they often mean more—more intimacy, more presence, more space to focus on what truly matters. Their day didn’t need anything extra. It was perfect in its simplicity and overflowing with heart.

If you’re planning a small, meaningful wedding in Montreal—perhaps in a church, your home, or somewhere special to you—know that those intimate moments can become some of the most powerful memories. And if you’re looking for a photographer who values storytelling, emotional connection, and calm presence, I’d be honored to capture your day—just like I did for Carla and Ian.
