Rose & Raul – Santo Domingo Wedding at the Botanical Garden

Jardin Botanico Santo domingo

About the event

Not all love stories are loud. Some speak in soft glances, quiet laughter, and simple, heartfelt moments that need no grand production to feel monumental. That’s exactly the kind of love Rosa and Raul share. Their intimate wedding, held at the stunning Santo Domingo Botanical Garden, was a beautiful reflection of who they are—genuine, peaceful, and deeply connected.

As a wedding photographer who values storytelling and emotional authenticity, I felt instantly drawn to their vision. From the moment Rosa first reached out, I knew this was going to be a celebration centered on what truly matters—love, nature, and the presence of those closest to them. With only a handful of guests, this ceremony wasn’t about extravagance. It was about intention. Every detail, every smile, and every hug felt personal and full of meaning.

The Botanical Garden was the perfect setting. Nestled in the heart of Santo Domingo, this space offers a peaceful escape from the city’s energy. It’s a dream location for couples who love the outdoors and want a serene, natural backdrop for their vows. The blooming flowers, vibrant greens, and soft golden light created an atmosphere that was both romantic and timeless.

Rosa looked radiant in a simple yet elegant gown that flowed effortlessly as she walked down the garden path. Her bouquet mirrored the environment natural, soft, and full of delicate blooms. Raul, equally composed and glowing with quiet joy, waited with open arms and a heart full of emotion. The moment their eyes met, time seemed to pause. These are the kinds of raw, authentic connections I live to capture.

Their ceremony was short, sweet, and filled with love. Surrounded by nature and the calming sounds of birdsong and a soft breeze, they exchanged vows that were handwritten and full of heart. It wasn’t about performance it was about presence. You could feel how genuine their promises were, how steady their bond had grown over time. I often say that small weddings allow for big feelings, and Rosa and Raul’s celebration proved that completely.

After the ceremony, we wandered through the garden for their portraits. One of the joys of a smaller wedding is the time and freedom to explore, without rush. We paused by blooming arches, soft patches of wildflowers, and tree-lined paths that created a magical frame around them. The way they moved together naturally, laughing, gently holding hands made every shot feel unposed and true to their spirit.

As the sun began to dip lower in the sky, casting a warm glow through the leaves, we captured some of my favorite moments: Rosa resting her head on Raul’s shoulder, their fingers interlocked, eyes closed, simply taking it all in. These in-between moments the unscripted, heartfelt pauses are where the soul of a wedding lives.

Being a part of Rosa and Raul’s day reminded me that the size of a wedding doesn’t determine its beauty or impact. What matters is the love, the connection, and the intention behind every choice. As their photographer, I felt honoured not just to witness their union but to document it with care, empathy, and artistry.

If you’re dreaming of a small, heartfelt wedding surrounded by nature, the Santo Domingo Botanical Garden offers the perfect setting. And if you’re looking for a wedding photographer who will honour your love story with patience, warmth, and creative vision, I’d be honoured to walk that journey with you—just like I did with Rosa and Raul.
